And for that you can say that number of terms in a fourier series is countably infinite because it’s a natural number series.

But, when you are trying to introduce fourier transform it is a mapping from real field to complex field. So, it becomes an uncountable summation. So, you have to first extend the countable summation to uncountable one and look at the conditions when this summation is defined. So, you have to be careful in this regard. You can call it fourier transform, but not the fourier series in strict sense because series is always a countable summation..
